Rock Climbing: The abundance of Rocky Mountains in the state of Himachal Pradesh makes it a favourite among rock climbing enthusiasts. There are many agencies that arrange rock climbing expeditions in the area, an activity that is even getting popular in corporate workshops.

Camping: You can book a camp in the forest area, on the mountain foothills or at the bank of the river Ganges. The camps at Shivpuri are very famous and offer a choice of luxury tents as well. Rafting: The city of Rishikesh in Uttaranchal provides amazing avenues for White-Water Rafting. Rafting in Rishikesh can be enjoyed by professionals as well as amateurs. Most operators offer the services of guides who ensure the safety of the rafters. However you are advised to exercise proper precaution and follow the instructions of the guides.

Every weekend between October 2008 and May 2009, Mercury Himalayan Explorations will be running fixed departures for weekend rafting and adventure getaways at our exclusive Beach Camp at Shivpuri near Rishikesh.

Travel on our bus with other adventure enthusiasts. Our trips include return AC transport from Delhi, all meals, two rafting trips, adventure activities and camping for one night in deluxe tents in our own exclusive camp on the silver-sands banks of the Ganga.

Fix Trekking Season in Himalaya

Fixed Departure Treks

With the weather warming up nicely we are gearing up for the return of the trekking season in the Himalayas. We organized the first ever trekking expeditions into the Spiti valley, the Nanda Devi Inner Sanctuary, the Siachen Glacier and the Kanchenjunga Base Camp, and today we run hundreds of treks all over the Himalayas.

To kick off, we have 2 fantastic fixed departure trips; one a popular classic, the other a more unusual trek combined with a 3-day rafting expedition.

Dodital Trek: 6th - 12th March 2009
The Dodital trek is a unique combination of adventure, temples, flora and fauna. The scenic beauty on the trails is breathtaking: situated at an elevation of 9,680 ft, Dodital lake is home to the Himalayan trout and is surrounded by dense woods of oak, pine, deodar and rhododendrons.

Daanda Ka Nagraj Trek and Ganga Rafting Expedition : 14th -19th Mar 09
At an altitude of 4,855 ft Daanda Ka Nagraj is a famous Nag temple in the Pauri-Garhwal region. The trek is moderate and begins at the village of Singthali, leading up to Byasghat (a fantastic camping spot) before a steep climb to the temple.
On the last day we trek down to Devprayag where the Bhagirati meets the Alaknanda to form the Ganga, and mount our rafts for three consecutive days of rafting on grade 3 & 4 rapids all the way to Rishikesh, camping out under the stars each night.

Shivpuri Beach Camp
Now is also a great time of the year to visit our deluxe beach camp on the banks of the Ganga at Shivpuri. Our camp is situated on the opposite side of the river from the road and has unique access only by raft. Aside from exhilarating rafting on grade 3 & 4 rapids, we also have a range of activities including kayaking, ropes courses and trekking.

Packages start at R. 3500/- per person (plus 3.09% service tax) for a 1 night 2 day trip with 2 rafting sessions.
